Few things promote more fear than the prospect of being trapped in your home or office as a fire rages out of control. One of natures most destructive forces, fire is amazing in its ability to spread rapidly and its propensity to ravage man-made structures. While most homeowners get by with two or three inexpensive smoke-detectors adorning the walls of their homes, others require more sophisticated forms of defense against potential fire-outbreaks. If you own a home or a business that harbors multiple inhabitants or workers; or if you possess valuable items that just can’t be replaced with a check from an insurance company, a fire alarm system might be your best line of defense.
What is a Fire Alarm System ?
Basically, a fire alarm system is a warning mechanism installed to either alert individuals that a fire has broken out, or quell the fire before it gets out of hand. Fire alarm systems are generally either manually activated, fully automated or, sometimes, a combination of the two. Most fire alarm systems work by monitoring changes in the environment that can indicate that a fire has started. Fire alarm systems come in a variety of forms and can include several different features. While some fire alarm systems serve merely to prompt evacuation, others are able to alert emergency services, while other advanced systems can even trigger irrigation systems that can either snuff out flames completely or reduce their potency until help can arrive.
Who Needs A Fire Alarm System ?
Anyone that owns a home or a business can benefit from a quality fire alarm system . While most structures require at least some form of rudimentary protection against fire, others need just a bit more. Quality, reliable fire alarm systems are especially beneficial for homes and offices that derive some or all of their power from natural gas. If a fire is not contained before it reaches the natural gas lines, the resulting explosion will likely leave very little to salvage....

The law's fate, and that of about 460,000 illegal immigrants in Arizona, will be determined in court. The outcome of the legal battle over immigration in Arizona could jeopardize hundreds of immigration laws passed by state and local governments.
Seven lawsuits, including one by the Department of Justice, have been filed in federal court to try to stop the state's law; a court hearing on the Justice suit and one other case is scheduled for Thursday. Even if the law does take effect as scheduled, its enforcement could spur another rush to state courthouses.
So advocates on both sides of the debate are gearing up for a fight. Prosecutors across the state are learning immigration law — the enforcement of which is typically handled by federal officers — for the first time.
Cities such as Flagstaff that refuse to enforce the new state law are preparing to defend themselves if they are sued.
